APSU again named "Great College to Work For"
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 For the third consecutive year, Austin Peay State University is one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education. In addition, APSU was the only public university in Tennessee to make the list.
The results were released today in The Chronicle鈥檚 seventh annual report on The Academic Workplace.

鈥淚t is a privilege to work with a campus community that has been again named one of the 鈥楪reat Colleges to Work For,鈥欌 APSU President Alisa White said.
In all, only 92 institutions achieved 鈥淕reat Colleges to Work For鈥 recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium and large institutions, with APSU included among the large universities with 10,000 or more students.
APSU won honors in nine of 12 categories this year:
鈥 Collaborative Governance
鈥 Confidence in Senior Leadership
鈥 Diversity
鈥 Facilities, Workspace and Security
鈥 Professional/Career-Development Programs
鈥 Respect and Appreciation
鈥 Supervisor or Department Chair Relationship
鈥 Teaching Environment
鈥 Tenure Clarity and Process
Because APSU was recognized in several categories, APSU received Honor Roll recognition.
The results are based on a survey of all employees at APSU. To administer the survey and analyze the results, The Chronicle worked with ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous 鈥淏est Places to Work鈥 programs, surveying hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide.
