Classics at APSU students present at international conference
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 Six Austin Peay State University Classics students recently presented papers at the Fifth Annual University of Tennessee Undergraduate Classics Conference, an international, refereed conference held on the campus of the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
This marked the third consecutive year APSU has had multiple students accepted, and also represented the highest total of students of any university at the conference.
The following APSU students presented their work at the conference:

- Amber Kearns, 鈥淥edipus as an Epic Hero鈥
- Brittany Orton, 鈥淩oman Regulation of Prostitutes鈥
- Katelynn DiStefano, 鈥淭he Antonine Plague鈥
- Etenia Mullins, 鈥淟ivy: A Mythological Chronicle in Nonfiction鈥
- Alexander Kee, 鈥淟ivy鈥檚 Use of the Frequentative Verb in His Historical Account of the Rape of the Sabine Women鈥
- Rebecca Illig, 鈥淟ivy鈥檚 Application of Objectivity in the Ab Urbe Conduit鈥
鈥淭hese students are all working with (APSU assistant professor of classics) Dr. Steve Kershner, who has encouraged and pressed these students to put themselves out there,鈥 APSU professor Dr. Timothy Winters said. 鈥淚 am proud of the students, and of the work that Dr. Kershner has done to to help these students get a jump on graduate school, and to shine a light on APSU鈥檚 Classics section and the Department of Languages and Literature.鈥
