How to Join a Fraternity or Sorority?
Joining a fraternity or sorority at Austin Peay State University is an exciting opportunity to grow as a leader, make lifelong connections, and become part of a supportive community. Each of our four governing councils offers a unique membership experience, so there are multiple ways to get involved!
APSU Greek Life Membership Invitation Guideline
To promote fairness, transparency, and adherence to council-specific recruitment processes, Greek-letter organizations at Austin Peay State University may NOT extend an invitation for membership (commonly referred to as a "bid") or promise an invitation for membership to any new student prior to the official Bid Day or Informational event designated by their respective governing council.
Definition of a New Student:
For the purposes of this guideline, a new student is defined as any incoming first-year or transfer student who is attending their
first semester at Austin Peay State University. Students who previously attended APSU
as dual enrollment participants are still considered new students and are not classified
as returning students for the purpose of this guideline.
This policy applies to all chapters under the Interfraternity Council (IFC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), College Panhellenic Council (CPC), and United Greek Council (UGC). Any violations may result in sanctions as determined by the Office of Student Life and Engagement in accordance with university and council regulations.
