Meet Austin Peay’s Ranger Challenge team cadets
For the first time in school history, the cadets of Austin Peay’s Governors Guard ROTC Ranger Challenge team qualified for the prestigious Sandhurst competition, the world’s top academy-level military skills challenge.
Austin Peay’s cadets arrived at the West Point, New York, competition on Sunday ready to go.
“They’re pretty motivated, and they think they’re going to do really well, and I do too,” Keith Colman, the team’s coach, said. “They’re real strong. They’ve been training hard for three months now.”
From Tuesday-Friday this week, we’ll post video interviews of members of the team, including the 11 who traveled to the U.S. Military Academy to compete and the alternates who are still at Austin Peay but rooting their teammates on.
We hope you enjoy getting to know our cadets. Check back every day to meet another three or four cadets.
Team captain Steven Price
'Sandhurst gives us a goal to train for'
Assistant captain Daniel Cole
'Proud of the ROTC program at Austin Peay'
Kylie Head
'Exciting to push myself, push my body'
