The last day of spring classes is on Wednesday, April 27, followed by Study Day on Thursday, April 28. Finals begin on Friday, April 29.
Finals wrap up next week, and commencement is on Friday, May 6.
Austin Peay professors to revisit Russia-Ukraine war during public presentation
Those seeking a deeper understanding of the war between Russia and Ukraine can attend a public presentation on April 26 at Austin Peay State University.
Drs. Anna Gregg, professor of political science, and John Steinberg, professor of history, will share their expertise about the war in a presentation at 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at the Morgan University Center, Room 303, at Austin Peay鈥檚 downtown campus.
The presentation 鈥 titled 鈥淭he Ukrainian-Russian Confrontation Continued鈥 鈥 is free and open to the public. Discussion will follow the presentation.
The presentation is sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta, History Club, India Club and Pi Sigma Alpha. Light refreshments will be served.
End-of-term celebration at Newton center
The Newton Military Family Resource Center will host 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at the center, 426 College St.
The celebration is open to all students and will have free food, drinks and fun.
Second annual native plant sale
Anyone with a green thumb can take home a piece of the Austin Peay campus during the APSU Grounds Department鈥檚 Second Annual Native Plant Sale.
Nearly 1,000 individual native plants are currently for sale, with 50 species of perennials, grasses, trees and shrubs available for under $15. All plants were grown at APSU, and individuals can see what鈥檚 available or make a purchase through this . The sale, which only accepts online orders, supports Austin Peay鈥檚 Arboretum Fund of Excellence to help maintain and expand the campus arboretum.
Anyone who purchases a native plant through the website above will be able to pick up their order from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, April 29, or from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 30, on the APSU campus, at the corner of Eighth and Farris streets.
Art + Design celebrating student work with annual juried exhibition
The Department of Art + Design will celebrate the end of the 2021-22 academic year with the 54th Annual Juried Student Exhibition. The professionally juried exhibition in The New Gallery runs through April 27.
The exhibition will culminate with a reception and awards ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on April 27. All are invited to attend the free ceremony.
The exhibition showcases the best artwork produced by students during the past year and allows students to participate in a professional exhibition where a qualified juror selects artwork and artistic merit awards.
The department will announce jury award winners 鈥 along with CECA Purchase Award and Summer Research Award recipients 鈥 at the 5:30 p.m. April 27 awards ceremony.

Mary Lee McCreary Rugraff ('41) attended Austin Peay State College on a music scholarship and performed as a soprano soloist. Music was her lifetime passion, and in addition to funding APSU music scholarships, she supported the music program at her church with gifts to the endowment.
