Happening today: The New Gallery to open with ‘Recent Acquisitions’

The New Gallery will open its 2020-21 exhibition season with “Recent Acquisitions” on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
The exhibit will include more than 150 pieces accepted into Austin Peay State University’s art collection during the last five years. Pieces include art from Ansel Adams, Deborah Gould Hall, Bonnie Schiffman, Albert Watson, Michel Thersiquel, Khari Turner, Gamaliel Rodriguez, Philippe Salaün and Karen Seapker.
A reception is planned to coincide with September’s First Thursday Art Walk from 5-7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at The New Gallery. A curator’s gallery talk is planned for 6 the same night. The exhibit is open until Sept. 10.
