Austin Peay is offering an outdoor adventure camp for teens this summer through Govs Outdoors.
Govs Outdoors Teen Camp is open to ages 12-15 and focuses on getting teens outdoors and into activities such as hiking, biking, rock climbing and caving, all offered in the Clarksville area.

The Monday-Friday camps run from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., June 3-28.
鈥淭his camp offers what most camps in the area don鈥檛, an opportunity for teens to find their passion for the outdoors,鈥 Clayton Sheehan, assistant director of programs for University Recreation, said. 鈥淭his camp is a perfect way for teens to find new hobbies and learn how to do them safely.鈥
Each day the teens will travel around the Clarksville area for the days鈥 activities. Trips include hiking at Land Between the Lakes, climbing at King鈥檚 Bluff, canoeing on the Red River and caving at Dunbar and Indian Gravepoint caves.
Campers start and end each day at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center at Austin Peay. The camps are $220 each week for members of the Foy Center and $235 for nonmembers. Camp space is limited to 12 campers each week.
鈥淲hen people think of outdoor recreation, they immediately think of Chattanooga or Knoxville,鈥 Sheehan said. 鈥淏ut in Clarksville, we have climbing, mountain biking, paddling and hiking. We should be encouraging our teens to learn about and take advantage of the opportunities that are in their backyard.鈥
