This Week at Austin Peay: From Stuffed with Pride to a drive-in movie, campus is bustling

Several interesting events are planned throughout campus this week, including:

from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the MUC Plaza: Stuff a rainbow bear to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month.
from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Office of Disability Services, MUC Room 114.
at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, behind the Foy Fitness & Recreation Center.
from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in MUC Rooms 303 and 305.
from 3-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in the Foy Wellness Room on the second floor of the Foy Fitness & Recreation Center.

‘Wansoo Kim: Table Monsters’ exhibit continues at The New Gallery

The New Gallery will present “Wansoo Kim: Table Monsters” – an exhibition of new works by APSU Art + Design faculty member Wansoo Kim – through Oct. 22.

This new series of works, “Table Monsters,” is an assemblage of recognizable and unidentifiable elements intended to evoke an environment where realism and surrealism coexist. Through both distant interaction with the works and personal closer examination, the viewer’s accessibility to the space and experience is restricted. By creating this experience for the viewer, Kim proposes to question our perceptions, our beliefs, our ignorance and our awareness.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.

APSU's Eriksson College of Education receives $1.025M Grow Your Own grant

The award from the Tennessee Department of Education will provide funding for teacher apprentices through July 2027. The Grow Your Own Teacher Residency provides a no-cost pathway to a teaching career and was named the first federally-registered teacher apprenticeship in the nation.

APSU board approves Millan Foundation Impact Center naming for expanded food pantry

The naming recognizes the Millan Foundation's transformational gift-in-place donation--APSU's first privately-funded donation of this type--which will expand the food pantry's capacity to serve 35% more students facing food insecurity.

Austin Peay State University to host Fall 2025 commencement ceremonies on Dec. 12

This semester's graduating class includes approximately 1,157 students. Undergraduate and graduate students from each of the university's academic colleges will be recognized.
