CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Austin Peay State University Presidential Search Committee will host a community open forum at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 9, on Zoom. To watch the meeting live, visit this .

“Consultants Julie Tea and Brian Bustin from the executive search firm Storbeck Search & Associates are currently meeting with constituents across the Austin Peay community to conduct an important pre-search study,” Mike O’Malley, chair of the presidential search committee, said. “They are seeking thoughts from all constituents about Austin Peay’s future and our community’s expectations for the next president.”

All members of the Austin Peay and Clarksville-Montgomery County communities are invited to attend.

“We truly want to learn your thoughts about the University’s priorities and the qualities, skills, and experiences you will be seeking in the next president,” O’Malley said.

Community members are also asked to complete a confidential Stakeholder Survey, available , by Sunday, Sept. 13. The results will be gathered by the search firm and shared with the search committee members.

Last month, the University’s Board of Trustees contracted with Storbeck Search & Associates and established a 23-member search committee – made up of APSU faculty, staff, students and alumni, along with trustees, community members and civic leaders – to help find a highly qualified individual to serve as the University’s 11th president.

Earlier this summer, Dr. Alisa White, APSU’s 10th president, was named the new president of Sam Houston State University in Texas. On Aug. 10, Dannelle Whiteside, APSU vice president of Legal Affairs, became the University’s interim president.

For more information on the search, contact Dr. McCartney Johnson, interim secretary of the board, at andrewsmn@apsu.edu.
