Crystal Ellis joined the University Student Success team in 2025. With a strong background in higher education leadership and student support, she is dedicated to creating inclusive pathways that empower students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. Before joining Austin Peay, Crystal gained extensive experience in student success programming, academic advising, and persistence strategies serving 11 years at Middle Tennessee State University.  She has developed and implemented retention-focused initiatives, facilitated cross-campus collaborations, and provided individualized support to help students navigate barriers and reach their academic and career goals. As a proud Nashville native, Crystal is actively rounding out her educational experience in the EdD program at Tennessee State University. Her research is centered on supporting first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students by examining persistence trends pre-, during, and post-COVID.  Passionate about helping students unlock their potential, Crystal approaches her work with compassion, innovation, and a commitment to student-centered leadership.

Evelyn is a Clarksville native and proud APSU alumna. She earned her Associate of Science in Liberal Arts, Magna Cum Laude, through Austin Peay State University's Middle College Associate’s Pathway in May 2023 while simultaneously graduating from high school with Honors and Distinction. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Pre-Professional Health, Magna Cum Laude, in May 2025 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with Honors in August 2026. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant during her master’s program, she developed a passion for mentoring and supporting students. Today, she serves as an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Department while earning her Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration. Committed to student success, Evelyn strives to create a supportive advising environment that helps students navigate challenges, achieve their goals, and reach their full potential.
