Curriculum
The Little Govs Child Learning Center uses The Creative Curriculum by Diane Trister Dodge, Laura J. Colker and Cate Heroman as well as a Reggio Emilia approach, a resource for planning developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom. It is a comprehensive, child development-based curriculum that helps us create an effective learning environment. It organizes the classroom into interest areas and provides guidance on the underlying rationale as well as goals and learning objectives for children, teachers and parents. The Reggio Emilia approach is one that encompasses a strong child-led learning environment, with natural elements to foster the best relationships with learning about our environments.
Each of our preschool classrooms are separated into learning centers. The children spend the majority of their day participating and learning in these centers.
