Governor’s Guide
Governor’s Guide is the official weekly email digest for Austin Peay students. Delivered every Sunday evening during the fall and spring semesters, it provides timely news, important deadlines, campus events, opportunities, and resources—all curated to help students stay informed and engaged.
What’s Included in the Governor’s Guide?
Governor’s Guide features:
- Important academic or university deadlines
- Student-focused news and updates
- Upcoming campus events and activities
- Scholarships, internships, and employment opportunities
- Student services and resources
- Recognitions and achievements relevant to students
Not appropriate:
- Messages intended only for faculty or staff
- Detailed departmental updates not relevant to a broad student audience
- Non-university-sponsored promotions or external solicitations
- Content that duplicates existing campus-wide announcements in other channels (do not submit the same item to multiple digest channels)
Submission & Approval
- Submission Deadline: Fridays at noon for inclusion in the following Sunday’s issue

- Approval: All content is curated by PR & Marketing to ensure clarity, accuracy, and student relevance
- Frequency: Distributed every Sunday to all enrolled students during the academic year
- Confirmation: Submissions are acknowledged by the system, but inclusion is not guaranteed. Items may be edited for length, clarity, or relevance as needed.
Content Guidelines
- Write clear, concise entries (1–2 short paragraphs or bulleted highlights)
- Start with the most important information first
- Include who, what, when, where, and relevant links
- Avoid jargon and technical terms; use student-friendly language
- Do not include attachments or PDFs—always link to official university web pages or resources. Test all links before submitting and use descriptive link text (avoid "click here").
- Ensure content meets accessibility standards (alt text for images, readable fonts, plain backgrounds)
- Submissions should not repeat information already included in previous editions, unless there is a significant update or a new deadline approaching.
